DRURY began well, dropped back suddenly after Five-sixteenths, but responded strongly after going to the outside in the stretch and, wearing down NICK D., outlasted TULANE LASS. The latter, away in a tangle and far back for half a mile, came through and closed with a rush. NICK D., away fast, showed speed, saved ground and tired after five-eighths. LITTLE MARCELLE, hard ridden, tired in the final drive. MADFINIS saved much ground and tired in the stretch. TENNYWOOD showed early speed. SUN FRIAR, racing in his best form and hustled into- a contending position going to the first turn, was taken under restraint after a quarter, responded gamely to pressure and, wearing down ARISTOCRAT while being forced wide, drew away fast at the end. ARISTOCRAT, taken into the lead, showed good speed in the going, bore out in the stretch and was overmatched. WRACKELL, always close up, saved ground and held on well. ALBAZANO lost much ground in the early stages and tired in the stretch. CATALOG was hard ridden. ST. JIM tired badly after half a mile. HOOPS also raced wide after starting slowly. GREEN WAVE showed speed for half a mile. WISE SELLER, placed outside the machine, wheeled at the start. The latter showed his best speed, saved much ground in the final half mile and, while no match for the winner, held on fairly well.
