The latter raced BROOMPATCH into defeat, but tired after drawing into decisive command. BROOMPATCH, hard urged, showed speed, saved ground, but tired in the stretch. GARDEN SEAT held on fairly well. BIG BLUE, close up under strong pressure in the early stages, was through after half a mile. ELLEN D. stumbled soon after the start, unseating her rider. AMERICAN THUNDER, hard ridden tq the closing three-eighths, raced evenly. TWILL was going well at the end. MARJORY NELL quit. BELEVEITORNOT was forced back when racing well on the stretch turn. BRIGHT KNOT failed to respond. PEAL, on the inside throughout and shuffled back on the first turn, lacked her usual speed. SPORTING MAUDIE was through early. ALAMADELE, favored by the best footing throughout, worked her way into the lead after a sixteenth and, maintaining her speed, withstood CRUCIAL TEST. The latter showed speed and held on stubbornly. SUNNY FLOWER, quick to get going, but unable to retain the lead after a sixteenth, finished resolutely. COPLEY SQUARE began well, dropped back, but was racing boldly in the stretch. BELLO SONO had no mishaps. THE HUB could not get up. LITTLE LAD was in close quarters shortly after the start and lacked speed when clear. TIVERTON began fast, but could not keep up. POT FULL, steadied along until reaching the final quarter, withstood the drive gamely. RED TAM, well ridden, tired in the last eighth.
