CRUCIAL TEST drew clear quickly, crossed to the inside after an eighth, then tired, but outlasted COPLEY SQUARE. The latter, a factor from the start, closed fast and was rapidly wearing down the winner. JUST UMBER, in close quarters early, raced very green, swerved repeatedly and did surprisingly well, due Jo the fact that he was handled with great difficulty. MISS DELIGHT raced evenly. LADY SUNBEAM began slowly and raced wide under poor riding. MOMS POLLY, away fast but unable to keep up, was shuffled back and had little chance. CLOISTERS DREAM had a rough race. BELLE DELIGHT was racing close up when crowded into the rail by JUST UMBER. THE HUB began poorly. GAY PRINCE never far back, responded gamely to hard urging in the- stretch and, wearing down the Readers, won drawing out. DEXTRO began slowly, improved his position with a rush on the inside and, withstanding the drive gamely, outlasted LITTLE MARCELLE. The latter bore- out entering the stretch, yet held on fairly well. GORGEOUS showed speed, swerved repeatedly in the stretch and tired badly. KING COMMANDER met interference. PRINCE ASCOT, away slowly, failed to improve his position. RUTH M. Showed early speed.- PENN, outrun early, moved up slightly in the stretch, only to tire. RENAISSANCE began fast, appeared to meet interference from SIR MELTON and, taken back after three-eighths, took the lead after half a mile, but soon gave way to the winner. SANDWRACK bore in badly, but came through on the inside in the stretch. PRINCE FARTHING had no mishaps. THE WHIG raced wide. SIR MELTON saved ground and was eased up when he tired badly.
