LITTLE MARCELLE began fast, always held the others safe, but did not threaten the winner. RITA ANN, under hard riding throughout, had no mishaps. DOUGHBOY could not get up. UPRISE failed to respond to hard .urging in the final five-sixteenths. BLIGHTER reached the lead with a big saving of ground, was well rated, then tired badly in the closing eighth. GLEN LAD closed a big gap SHACKELFORD had no mishaps. SYDKA quit. DELCO DEL was outrun. Start good out of machine. Won driving; second and third the same. BEAVER, far out of it for half a mile, improved his position while racing wide on the second turn, continued resolutely after going to the inside in the stretch and, coming through on the inside of OUR GRIEF, got up for a lucky win. The latter, best and taken into an unnecessarily long lead, maintained the commanding advantage, but raced wide in the stretch and tired. DEXTRO, under light restraint for half a mile, responded mildly on the stretch turn, then tired badly. MISS N. CONLAN was outrun. DISTANT DRUM showed early speed.
