MORDEN showed good speed, drew clear, then tired suddenly in the last seventy yards and was unable to withstand the challenge of the winner. NORWAI.K, hard urged all the way, moved up resolutely entering the stretch, but could not overhaul the leaders. PARTIES finished well. MAKE SPEED had no excuses. Scratched 68607 Mareve, 106. POLYGAMOUS, racing in his best form, took command at once and, steadied in. front while saving ground, held sway throughout and won with speed to spare. SCOT FREE, taken back repeatedly in the first three-eighths, gradually improved his position on the outside until entering the stretch, where he came through on trie inside and shook off KNOWLTON. The latter, an early factor, tired under pressure in the stretch. TEA CRACKER, hard ureed from the start, could not get up. MY SIS tired after going half a mile. ROAN ANTELOPE, fractious at the post, began alertly from outside the machine and, rushed to the front going to the first turn, continued gamely when challenged and outlasted SILVERY. The latter, a factor throughout, moved up menacingly on the outside entering the stretch and appeared to be the winner in the stretch. FAIR BILL lacked speed and was far back for a mile, finished resolutely and passed tired horses in the last eighth. FETISH tired after seven-eighths. BOUNDING DEEP quit badly in the stretch. HELIOS, away forwardly, swerved to the outside in the first sixteenth, forcing LE BRUYERE and DRY RIDGE to pull up, but responded gamely when straightened out and outlasted MEANY. The latter, quickest to get going, showed good speed and held on gamely, but was not good enough. MAEANTIC bore to the inside after the start and was straightened out after colliding with DRY RIDGE, finishing resolutely. BRACER came through all the way and had no excuses. EVENING followed the leaders closely around the first turn and, drawing steadily clear after three-eighths, won as her rider pleased. CATHOP, in close quarters going to the first turn, was forced to pull up, but improved his position on the inside until entering the stretch, whore he went to the outside and wore down TROMBONE under urging. TROMBONE moved up resolutely on the far turn, then tired in the stretch. BAY ANGON, quickest to start, saved ground all the way and disposed of RENAISSANCE in the stretch. The latter, closest to the leader in the early stages, tired in the closing quarter SANSARICA had no mishaps. LUCKY TOM began from outside the machine, was outrun and was never a serious factor.
