T. M. CASSIDYS NOMINATIONS Universe and Saxon Lady Named for 0,000 Classic and Arlington Oaks, Respectively. One of the most interesting characters in American racing, "Doc" Thomas M. Cas-sidy, plans to participate in the sport at Arlington Park next summer as is shown by his nominations of Universe to the 0,-000 added Classic and Saxon Lady to the 5,000 added Arlington Oaks. Both Universe and Saxon Lady were good winners in the East last season, the former capturing the Youthful and Eastview Stakes, and the latter beating several good fields of both sexes. In Universe Cassidy owns one of the more highly regarded three-year-old prospects of the present season, and he hopes the son of Infinite and Plaid will have better luck than befell his Crack Brigade two years ago. Crack Brigade, shortly after running a close second to Gallant Fox in the Preakness, went amiss and was unable to fulfill his remaining engagements, which included the Classic. Universe won three of his nine starts as a juvenile and was second in two stakes and third in two others, carrying highweight after his triumph in the Youthful Stakes at Jamaica. He was retired after winning the Eastview Stakes in July, and has been galloping satisfactorily at Columbia, S. C, for the past month under the direction of Joe Bauer. Saxon Lady, a daughter of Coventry and Livonia, is a half-sister to The Finn, a high class racer many years ago.
