I NEW ORLEANS TURF NOTES I S Webb Everett, paddock judge at Tanforan, plans to leave for San Francisco immediately after the clos.e of the Fair Grounds meeting. He is employed at the Fair Grounds. Knebelkamp and Morris Hoops, one of the most improved three-year-olds of the winter, was named for the 0,000 added Louisiana Derby, under the supplementary subscription clause following his winning race yesterday. He is the first to be added since the nominations closed at the nominal charge of 5 each and his subscripition was at 00. According to advices received here, the Appellate Court of Texas will hear the appeal of the Texas Breeders and Racing Association, on April 15. The Texas Breeders and Racing Association is appealing conviction in the lower court of violating the state laws against betting at the one-day meeting held at the Arlington Downs track between Fort Worth and Dallas last fall. Chris FitzGerald, presiding steward at the Arlington Park Jockey Club, has suggested that the Arlington Park steeplechase course be converted into a turf course. Steeple-chasing has been dropped from the Arlington Park program. Nominations for the ,000 added General Beauregard Claiming Stakes for three-year-olds and upward and to be run at a mile and one-eighth on Saturday, March 5, are closing tomorrow. This race, a new feature, is under the ,500 to ,000 claiming scale. James Smith resumes riding Monday after a ten-day suspension for rough riding. J. J. Elford turned Prince Tara over to T. C. Bevan and the latter will include him among the horses he is shipping from here to Riverside Park, Kansas City. Raymond A. Dphle is taking a contract on E. Delmado, an apprentice of some experience. Eight races will be run on each Saturday during the remainder of the meeting and post time on those days will be 2 oclock. Jack B. Campbell, Fair Grounds steward, has purchased a home at 9-47 East Beach Street, Biloxi, Miss., and with his brother . and sister-in-law, will make his home there.
