ALBAZANO, away slowly and forced wide on the first- turn, moved up with a rush on the back stretch and, drawing into a long lead on the second turn, tired badly, but lasted for a lucky win. MAKE BELIEVE, fractious at the post, where he straddled one of the partitions, was under restraint until reaching the final three-eighths, where he responded resolutely and, but for bearing in badly in the stretch, might have won. TIGER FLOWERS, away fast, saved much ground and was best of the others. TRUDGEON showed speed, but tired. CROWNED HEAD began slowly. DON T. quit. LADY BIENVILLE and HAYESS CHOICE were badlv outrun. THE DUKE, under light restraint for five-eighths, took the lead on the outside entering the stretch and held on well. PERFECT PLAY saved ground throughout, forced the early pace under light restraint and held on gamely under strong hand riding. YARROW closed fast. NERVATOR made up much ground in the final quarter. JACK BERRY bore out most of the way and was done after three-quarters. HASOLA quit. BABBLE showed early speed." ANALYST, under light restraint for three-quarters, slowly wore down DRURY and LAWFUL GAMBLE and, drawing clear, held on well, but was not good enough. SOUTHLAND LAD, close up after a quarter, finished in close quarters. ESCOBA LAND raced well. DRURY met interference. ANGRY, indulged with the pacemaking, was much used racing BROAD MEADOWS into defeat, then tired. BROAD MEADOWS, on the inside throughout, showed speed, but quit in the last quarter.
