TAKE PURSE FROM SCIMITAR AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, March 2. The protest of trainer A. L. Austin on behalf of Belgian Lass against the award of the purse in the fourth race of March 1, to Scimitar on the ground that he carried four pounds less than his correct weight was sustained by the stewards. Scimitar was a winner on Sunday and incurred a penalty of that amount. The corrected placing is as follows: Nacho, Quiver, Belgian Lass. Owners and trainers were cautioned to check the weights on their horses as they appear on the program and were reminded of their responsibility for the weights carried.
