MAKE SPEED, quickest to get going, opened up a commanding lead on the turn and was not menaced thereafter. SULTRY worked his way up on the inside, moved up resolutely around LADY ARA entering the stretch and was an easy going second. LADY ARA, a factor throughout, held the others safe in the last eighth. DEAK DUFF began, slowly and closed a big gap. FOOLISH FELLOW tired in the stretch. WATER FALCON quit badly after three-eighths. WARD-IN-CHANCERY stumbled on the stretch turn and unseated his rider. HIGHEST POINT, closest to the winner throughout, responded well and was wearing down the winner. PREPARE acted badly at the barrier and began from outside the machine, then moved up with a rush in the first three-eighths, but did not threaten the leaders in tha stretch.
