j , 1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES t s The McFerran Sales Company will sell at public sale in the Churchill Downs paddock : next Friday a number of horses in training. I Consignments from various of the stables here will be offered. With Tweeny slated to fill her engagement in the Kentucky Oaks next Saturday, the Greentree Stable, trained by J. S. Middle-ton, will be among the last to leave the local track for Washington Park. The large stable Claude Hunt is training for William F. Knebelkamp, of Louisville, has been added to the many moving on to Washington Park next week end. The Knebelkamp string will be headed by the three-year-olds Delivered and Hoops. Delivered has almost fully recovered from the ailment which kept him out of the Kentucky Derby and promises to be ready for the 0,-000 added American Derby, to be renewed at Washington Park. Jack Howard will remain here with his stable of sixteen for the entire meeting and plans to get away for Washington Park next Saturday night. Charles Corbett will ride for the Howard Stable at that and other of the Illinois tracks this season. Depression and Princess Camelia, respectively Kentucky Oaks candidates of James W. Parrish and Mrs. John Marsch, were worked under excellent conditions at Churchill Downs Saturday morning. Depression, accompanied by Town Limit, went three-quarters in 1:14%, handily, and Princess Camelia breezed a mile in 1:45%. The Oaks will be renewed at a mile and one-eighth next Saturday, closing day of the meeting. Jockey C. McCrossen was suspended for the remainder of the meeting for interfering with Dick Morris during the running of the third race Saturday. R. L. Stivers claimed Parnell Bound from E. J. Reed out of the second race Saturday for ,500. Roscoe Goose, who developed jockeys Eugene James, Gilbert Elston and Charles Kurtsinger, has taken over the Idaho youngster Willard Cook, who was brought out by Phil Reilly, and Cook will begin riding under Gooses supervision here Monday. This western youngster has exhibited promise in what few opportunities he has I had, and with the clever Goose handling I him, should develop into a good rider. He can scale at 102 pounds.
