i TWENTY GRAND SOUND- I j PUT BACK IN TRAINING j LEXINGTON, Ky., May 19.— Twenty Grand is on his way back to Belmont Park to be trained again by William Brennan. The four year-old son of St. Germans — Bonus had been at Greentree Farm of his owner, Mrs. Payne Whitney, since May 3. He has been under observation of Major L. A. Beard, general manager of Greentree Farm; Dr. Charles Hagyiard and others of the Whitney organization. Dr. Henry J. McCarthy arrived yesterday morning from Baltimore and made a further examination. Dr. F. C. Beller, from the office of Doctors Hagyiard and Hagyiard took an X-ray picture of the left leg. The determination of the experts is that there is no trouble with the tendon, but that it is due to an inflamed condition about the sesamoid bone. The decision was that the great horse will train on and he was put into a car early this morning in charge of attendants from Greentree Farm. The expectation is that he will give a good account of himself at Saratoga. This surely is good news for racing fans everywhere. It is very likely that the inflammation was set up through Twenty Grands having struck himself while at work and with proper care and treatment and with absolutely level shoeing, he need not take another lame step.
