PHAELDALE, away rather slowly, met interference, was used up reaching contention and had little left at the end. IPSARA tired. CIRCUS PARADE and PROVIDENCE LASS showed early speed. LILLIAN Z. took the lead after going a quarter and, increasing his advantage in the stretch, held sway to the end to win under pressure. BONNIE CAP, outrun early, lost many lengths by racing very wide on the stretch turn, but was gaining with every stride. JOE MACAW saved ground on the stretch turn and finished close up. LOVE APPLE met interference in the stretch. TIVERTON was used up dashing into contention in the early stages and quit badly. FIGURISTE was bumped in the stretch and tired. PRINCE VOLTA acted badly at the barrier and was started from outside the machine, began slowly and was never a factor. UNDERDUN showed the most early speed and held on gamely when challenged. PERFECT PLAY was under early restraint, but could not improve his position when railed upon. PLAY BIRD would have been closer but for being crowded back in the back stretch. GEORGE JR., a slow starter, closed a big gap. SYDKA tired in the final quarter. GOLDEN PLAY raced close up all the way and finished gamely. TONTO ROCK took the lead early and, racing fairly well after being overtaken, saved ground in the stretch and outlasted the others. BLUE CLOUD was slow to get going, but closed a gap. BAG O ROSES tired in the stretch. MOON PHASE also tired.
