PREPARE FOR BANNER CROWD Aurora Officials Anticipate Brilliant Opening at Exposition Park. Eight Races Will Be Run on Saturday and Labor Day Ladies to Pay Only the Tax First Afternoon. AURORA, 111., Sept. 1. Exposition Park, where the Aurora Jockey Club will operate a fall meeting of thirteen days or more, was all set today for a brilliant opening Saturday. Track officials were prepared to handle a banner crowd on opening day and possibly a record breaker on Labor Day. Every barn at the Fox River Valley track had almost its full quota of horses that have been shipped here from Ohio, Kentucky, Canada and Chicago. More horses were coming in at the last minute to participate in the thirteen days of racing that is now scheduled. Late arrivals are expected to fill all stables at the course to capacity, assuring more than enough horses to provide good sized fields daily. Eight races will be run opening day and Labor Day. During the week days, however, only seven races will be run daily. This will give racing fans from Chicago and other cities in the Fox River Valley ample time to get home to dinner. Aurora, according to its custom of the last two years, will admit ladies free on the opening day, and thereafter they will be the guests of the management on Tuesdays and Fridays. Their only admittance fee will be the tax, exacted by state and government. Post time for the first race will be 2:30 p. m. each day. Special trains will be run to the course over the Burlington Railroad and the Chicago, Aurora and Elgin electric line. The opening day card will be featured by the Inaugural Handicap, a six furlongs dash for horses of all ages. Operation of the daily double form of wagering, first introduced to local racegoers at Aurora last May, again will be featured during the fall meeting. Sam C. Nuckols, presiding steward, and Dr. Fred Asche, his, associate in the stand, will meet today to iron out the final details of the opening.
