FAILS IN HER FIRST AT DADE Full Up, Favorite, Is Unplaced in Race Won by Kuvera. Shandon Farm Filly Tires After Showing Early Speed Prince Megan -Lame Substitute Race Is Run. HENDERSON, Ky., Sept. 1. One of the biggest disappointments of the meeting came with the running of the third race at Dade Park this afternoon when the public installed the Shandon Farms Full Up the favorite over six other three-year-olds, that engaged at three-quarters. Kirby Ramsey saddled the winner, Mrs. E. A. Carneys consistent Kuvera registering his second success of the meeting by leading the improved Abe Furst to the wire after the latter had raced Full Up into submission in the opening half-mile. Epidemic was third, a half-length back of the tiring Abe Furst and six lengths in the van of Foreign Play. Full Up was making her first appearance under silks since last fall, but on the strength of her recent good works she received the bulk of the support. After Prince Megan had pulled up lame this morning, the fifth and feature event was declared off, and the substitute, engaging two-year-olds, that filed yesterday, was run in its place. Cloudy weather, with a wind that tempered the heat, prevailed for the sport, which was confined to sprinting affairs, with the exception of the seventh race, which was over the Dade Park course. There was a quick start in the third event, and Abe Furst, showing improvement under the handling of D. Meade, raced into the lead soon after the start, closely attended by Full Up and Foreign Play. South was rating the victor behind the leaders, and he did not call on him until the field swung into the stretch. At this stage Full Up began to tire, and Kuvera, racing into contention, soon wore down Abe Furst. Shortly after leaving the eighth pole, he took command to come to the wire with a length and one-half margin. Abe Furst began tiring from setting the exacting pace and was hard pressed to stall off the fast closing Epidemic, which was racing in the middle of the track. The opening dash, which engaged a field of eight at three-quarters, was productive of a tight finish, with M. J. Whalens Jim Ormont leading the veteran Estin by a half length, with the latter nosing out the favorite, Norias. The speedy Jack Howe and Norias dominated the pace to the final drive, where Meade drove the winner through in the middle to outlast the fast closing Estin, which came from far back to reach contention. Paul Neal, whose riding has been one of the sensations of the meeting, gave another sparkling exhibition of horsemanship when he rode the Ridgeview Stock Farm. Stables Ridge Lady to her initial triumph over a limit field of maiden fillies in the five and one-half furlongs second race. Emmaline H., second choice, was second, with Waucela third. Restrained off the early pace of Moms Polly, which was closely attended by Waucela to the final furlong, Ridge Lady responded to Neals urging to take command in the final drive and lead the fast-closing Emmaline H. by a half length at the finish. Racing in improved form, F; H. Carpenters Dunny Boy was an easy winner over a field of seven of the better grade platers that engaged at six furlongs in the fourth event. Prince Fox raced to the place and Major Lanphier accounted for the minor award. Getting a big advantage from the bad start, Dunny Boy raced into a long lead after disposing of Fireflash in the opening quarter and came to the finish with a three lengths margin. A change in riders from M. Goodman to G. Fowler improved Major Lanphiers chances and he was running the best of the field at the wire. After racing into a contending position during the opening half mile, Racketeer, favorite, dropped out of it in the final quarter. Billy Jones chances were hampered at the start.
