POPO, away well and saved for five-eighths, went around SYM JACK on the lower turn and, continuing well, won easily. LE MINISTRE, fractious at the post and away poorly, began moving up in the final half mile and, closing a big gap, overtook VENETIAN in the final strides. The latter, close up from the start, tired in the final drive. BOURBON PRINCE showed dull form. SYM JACK showed early speed, but quit badly. ACTIVE AMERICAN was done early.
