WHITNEY HEADS OWNER LIST Equipoise and Caterwaul Earn 3,- 850 at Havre de Grace. Wheatley Stable Fares Well When Dark Secret Wins Potomac Handicap Hanford Leading Rider. The owners who raced their horses at the recent Havre de Grace meeting shared 4,-370.83 daily, the Harford Agricultural and Breeders Association distributing a toal of 72,450 during the twelve days of racing, which began September 19 and ended October 1. Eighty-four races were decided, among them many valuable stakes. C. V. Whitney was the leading money-winning owner, with a total of 3,850, most of it accounted for by Caterwaul, winner of the Eastern Shore Handicap, and Equipoise, winner of the Havre de Grace Cup Handicap. Incidentally, the horses were first and second, as named, in the money winners list in their own column. The Wheatley Stable was the second greatest money winner among the owners, with 0,400. Dark Secret was the Wheatley Stables one and only winner, scoring in the rich Potomac Handicap. "Buddy" Hanford led the riders with thirteen winners, carrying off the gold watch offered at all Havre de Grace meetings to the leading jockey. R. Workman was second with eight winners. Three trainers saddled four winners each and tied for honors in that division. They were B. Creech, H. McDaniel and P. M. Walker.
