CANTERWOOD, away fast and gaining steadily after the first eighth, went to the outside of FLORA CANTER in the stretch and, wearing down the later, drew out gradually. FLORA CANTER opened up a winning lead leaving the back stretch, saved much ground, but tired fast when challenged. FELICIANA, .starting from the outside, was unable to threaten the leaders at any stages. FAIR BILLY circled the others and finished resolutely. TOWN SQUARE had no mishaps. RUSTIC LADY tired. LUCKITE, kept in the first flight and fencing well, went to LOUIS DOR at the final fence, then drew out under pressure when the pacemaker landed badly. LOUIS DOR, steadied in front early, withstood keen contention from FLAVIUS, saved ground, but tired when he hobbled at the last fence, while his rider lost his stirrup irons. HUFFY improved his position steadily and was gaining slowly at the end. OUI MONSIEUR could not improve his position at any stage. DOCK LIGHT was never-dangerous. WILLINGDON struck his fences repeatedly and fell at the last fence. FLAVIUS was racing stoutly when he fell at the twelfth jump SHEEP SKIN fell at the eleventh fence and GEORGE JESSEL was pulled up after the eighth fence. The latter entered contention stoutly in the final half mile, challenged resolutely at the last eighth post, but tired thereafter. DADDY NELSON, closer up than usual, was easily best of the others. DURBARU tired steadily in the final drive. LIGHT BREEZE propped at the start, then closed a biir gap. MARTEAU, well placed early, tired badly when put to a drive. POLITEN, on the outside for five-eighths and taken into the deepest footing in the closing half mile, continued gamely. BURN-SIDE, rated along until challenged, tired fast in the stretch.
