LONDON, England, Oct. 21 When the final acceptances for the one mile, one furlong Cambridgeshire Stakes Handicap, to be run next Wednesday at Newmarket, were made known yesterday, thirty-three horses of the original entry of ninety-two being left in the race and almost all will come under the starters control. Few were surprise to find the Aga Khans St. Leger and Jockey Club Stakes winner, Firdaussi, missing from the list, but his owner is still represented by the three-year-old filly Becti, a daughter of the St. Leger winner Salmon Trout. The withdrawal of last years winner of this stake, H. Claytons Disarmament, caused more surprise, as the son of Beresford Lad performed creditably all season. His trainer probably considered 130 pounds a prohibitive burden for the four-year-old. Sir Alfred Butts useful campaigner, the French-bred six-year-old Slipper, is now top weight of this field, 126 pounds, and on his good performance in this race when fourth two years ago with 125 pounds in the saddle, may not be overburdened with the extra pound. He appears to hold his then conqueror, George F. X. Haitigans The Fen safe, as he has a pull of sixteen pounds in his favor and, morover, Slipper has been, very consistent to date this season.
