The latter, racing in his best form and well placed, finished gamely. McGONIGLE, very fractious at the barrier, began fast from the. outside, raced well and held on gamely. MARSE ROBERT, weakly ridden, was taken very wide on the back stretch and covered much more ground than the others. GENERAL LEJEUNE tired in the stretch. GARLIC could not overtake the leaders. MATADI raced poorly. HAPPEN, sent into the lead at once and kept out in the firmer footing, could not withstand the winner! STORM, hard ridden throughout, outlasted CHU CHU. SARADA, thuffled back going to the first turn, took a wide course thereafter and closed gamely. EASY DAY, -badly bumped by GOLDEN WAY going to the first turn, recovered and finished gamely. CAFjEARS GHOST-showed a good performance. WAVE ON tired, as did BALIOS. SILENT SHOT tired badly.
