BIG CROWD AT HAGERSTOWN HAGERSTOWN, Md., June 2. The many Baltimoreans in the crowd of 7,000 which packed this picturesque half-mile plant made merry when Nick Tromberio, a resident of the Monumental City outrode A. Parker to win the first division of the Mount Vernon, the days five and one-half furlongs feature, with E. Fetters Rush, to pay 5.10. When the field of eight left the Waite gate, Harvard took command, with Sandy San, King Bird and Capton fighting for the lead. In the meantime Tromberio was restraining Rush off the pace, but after covering a half mile he moved up fast on the outside of his field and, closing with a rush in the stretch, won going away from C. L. Brimmers Sandy San, with Mrs.- A. M. Halls King Bird third.
