LADIES HPHuVMSIDE Fair Sex Present in Large Numbers at Kansas City Course Favorites Fare Well. KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 2. Ladies Day at Biverside Park attracted a large gathering with the fair sex turning out in large numbers to witness an excellent eight-race program. While there was no special offering scheduled, the majority of the races were well filled and some interesting sport resulted. Conditions were ideal for the days sport and, while the sun was extremely hot, it was tempered somewhat by a cool breeze that swept the course from the South. Favorites and well backed choices dominated the running of the earlier races and excellent time was made despite the newness of the track. An exceptionally large crowd was on hand. Mr. Bun, which received his education in Kentucky, was the winner of the initial race which brought together eleven two-year-olds and was staged under claiming conditions. The winner was fractious at the post, but began well from the outside position and quickly raced into contention on the outside of Four Spot. Mr. Bun wrested the lead from the latter and continuing gamely drew away to win by a length and one-half. Four Spot easily held the fast-finishing Moral Miss safe for second place, while the latter had little opposition for third. Cursor, one of the favored ones, after acting badly at the post, wheeled at the start and was left. Brown Bank, odds-on favorite, accounted for the second race when finishing fast in the stretch he got up in the last few strides to earn a nose victory from the pacemaking Wingo. One and one half lengths farther back came Terror, which just managed to get up to earn the minor share of the purse from the tiring Kingsport. The winner was slow to find his best stride but onceandie circled the field, came rapidly when put to punishment and it was only in the final eighth that he loomed up dangerous, but closing with a rush that got him up right at the end. Wingo held on well to take second place while Kingsport which was prominent in the early pacemaking dropped completely out of it. Taking the lead from the start My Ideal carried the colors of H. Sneed to a rather handy victory in the running of the third, which was over the Futurity course. Three lengths back of the winner came Mrs. W. J. Henflings Moorish Amulet and two lengths farther back came the tiring favorite Booby Bird. My Ideal was the first to show in front when the start was effected, followed by Booby Bird and Grantor in the order named. After going a half mile the winner had increased her advantage to two lengths and Moorish Amulet had replaced Grantor in third position. In the final quarter My Ideal continued to draw away to finish three lengths in the van of Moorish Amulet, which had succeeded in passing Booby Bird for the place. The rest of the field were well beaten. j
