1 THISTLE DOWN TURF NOTES I $ Condition books and application blanks for the Fairmount fall meeting, which gets under way on September 2, were received here by Charles Campau and distributed among horsemen. There will be a special train of horses leaving here for Fairmount for the opening. Entries for Fairmounts Inaugural Handicap .and the Labor Day Handicap will be accepted here. Richard Leigh, who compiled the first book for the Fairmount meeting,, has endeavored to make races to suit the horses which will go to Fairmount and the book has been highly commended by horsemen here. Purses range from 00 to 00. Cliff Abbo, who has been doing publicity at the local meeting, left for St. Louis Thursday. E. B. Shipp sent his charges to Dade Park from here, following which he will ship to Fairmount. P. T. Catalano, whose stable is headed by Al Green, ships from here directly to Fair-mount and will have his track record holder in the opening days entries. Lonnie Hendricks, jockey under contract to Richard Scoville, left for Dade Park on Wednesday night. Joseph Cattarinich arrived here Tuesday from Chicago, where he had a conference with general manager Eddy regarding the Fairmount meeting. He remained two days before departing for New York, en route to Montreal. Robert Green unloaded the following horses at Thistle Down from New York: Black Patricia, Oconnell and Thoughts. Charles Rufi, who had Major Lanphier on the grounds, claimed Jolly Pilot. F. - Wood checked in with McKell, Albert Blanton and Golden Sandals.
