CONNAUGHT PARK OPENING OTTAWA, Ont., Aug. 11 The stage is set at beautiful Connaught Park for the opening of the second summer meeting Saturday. Thoroughbreds have been arriving daily for the past week and besides the more important stables that have been racing on Quebec tracks, several shipments have arrived from New York. The stable of J. Morris is reported en route from Saratoga and is expected to be unloaded at the Ayl-mer course early Saturday. Local racegoers will have their first opportunity of witnessing starts from the Cat-tarinich starting machine. Heretofore nothing but the old style barrier had been in use at Connaught Park. Another innovation will be the public address system, with the well known sports authority, E. W. Ferguson, describing the running of each of the seven races from the stewards stand.
