ALAMO DOWNS NOTES Racing secretary Gene Bury has arranged another handicap over the six and a half furlongs the Raymond Russell course which calls for threeyearolds and over the Gunter Hotel Handicap The race will carry a purse of 700 and has been carded for Wednesday Excepting Lynx Eye the best horses in training here will be entered enteredIt It is almost a certainty now that ap ¬ prentice Dublin Taylor will carry off riding honors at the local course Taylor at the end of the second week has ridden twenty one winners six more than his nearest rival apprentice Tommy King who left for Au ¬ rora Sunday with a division of the J D and W A Mikel horses Patsy Petrella finished out the week with twelve winning mounts to his credit It is likely too that J D Mikels record of saddling twelve winners during the meeting will stand standWith With the attendance and mutuel handle increasing daily the outlook for the final week at Alamo Downs is very promising Again the fair sex will be the guests of the management on Thursday ThursdayWith With the close of the Alamo Downs meet ¬ ing next Saturday Detroit will receive the largest number of horses being shipped from this point Wayne Lewis trainer for the Wood Axton thoroughbreds will first go to Kentucky where he will pick up about fif ¬ teen head for training and will have a con ¬ signment of twentyfive horses for Detroit The Eskay Stable will also ship to Detroit from here the horses owned by Mrs Floyd West Quite a number of the cheaper horses will remain hereabouts for the Seguin meet ¬ ing which will follow the close of Alamo Downs Arthur Elrod has been engaged to handle the certificate department at the Seguin meeting
