THREATEN HAMILTON STRIKE Purses Owed to Horsemen Must Be BePaid Paid Today or Meeting Will WillBe Be Declared Off HAMILTON Ohio May 7 In view of the fact that the purses have not been paid here since Wednesday last the horsemen threat ¬ ened to strike and refuse to run their horses this afternoon Following a conference at noon today with the horsemen the manage ¬ ment of the Hamilton Jockey Club an ¬ nounced that every effort was being made to replenish the bank roll and it was ex ¬ pected that all obligations would be met at 11 oclock Tuesday Employes salaries were paid up to and including Friday FridayIt It was also agreed at the conference that the purses commencing today would be reduced materially materiallyIn In the event that the money owed to the horsemen is not paid by 11 oclock tomor ¬ row morning the meeting will be declared off offIt It was further announced that the bank roll of 10000 alleged to have been behind the venture here had already shrunk 1 3000 but was loaned to the operators only for the purpose of operating the mutuel plant and not to finance the meeting meetingIn In other words said a horseman fol ¬ lowing the conference the meeting is being promoted on a rain check
