I I I I 1 EMPIRE CITY TURF NOTES $, Frank Stevens, well known caterer, was the victim of footpads during the early hours Monday morning as he was leaving his home for the business offices and relieved of the days receipts at the track and polo grounds. Carter Hall, veteran Maryland horseman, sustained painful injuries when he fell alighting from a taxicab in front of his home in Baltimore. He sustained a badly lacerated mouth and face and broke three fingers. Carlaro was badly cut down going to the turn in the fifth race Monday and will be on the shelf for the summer. ♦
