1 ARLINGTON PARK NOTES $ — — — * Jockey R. "Sonny" Workman arrived Monday and lost no time getting into action, having mounts on Black Mail, Western Lad and Rhadamanthus. J. S. Stewart, trainer of the Milky Way Farm Stable, has taken second call on jockey Jack Westrope for the Hawthorne meeting. Joseph E. Wideners Needle, which performed so dismally in her recent races, raced without blinkers in her engagement in the fifth race Monday. According to the present plans of George Ogle, he will load his entire stable for Saratoga Tuesday. Jockey A. Tipton will also leave for the Spa. W. E. Hupp, who is racing a small stable here in charge of W. G. Sparks is an arrival from his home in Lexington, Ky., and will remain for an indefinite period. Jockey Lester Balaski returns Friday from New Orleans and will resume riding the same day. He has been visting his parents in the Crescent City. George Swain has been licensed as agent for the W. Sachs-enmaier stable, trained by Phil Reuter, beginning with the Hawthorne meeting. After spending the best part of a week here, Arthur Sparks, who is associated with William Kyne, left for San Francisco, where he will be active in preparations for the coming inaugural meeting at Kynes Bay Meadows track. Sparks was accompanied by his family.
