PLATERS FURNISH SPORT Uncle Donald Wins Best Race on Card Under Clever Ride Juveniles and Maiden Races Monopolize MonopolizeProgram Program Large Crowd on Hand Handat at Empire City NEW YORK N Y July 26 J A Co burns Uncle Donald was winner of the Sleepy Hollow Purse at the Empire City Association course today This was a gallop of a mile and seventy yards for platers and to score rather easily the useful son of Vulcain ran down Dr J P Jones Bub blesome with Mrs John Calvins Easy Sail ¬ ing just beating P B Codds Parity for third thirdIt It was another day with platers furnish ¬ ing the entertainment with two of the races for juveniles and two races for maidens but there was contest enough in each event to interest a big crowd crowdIn In the Sleepy Hollow Bubblesome jumped into the lead as he left his stall and he carried the pace until well inside the final furlong when he was run down by the win ¬ ner Parity raced after the son of Bubbling Over but weakened when the real racing began while Uncle Donald in the early stages was well back of the pace and Hum phries made up ground steadily with him to time the winning effort cleverly cleverlyStone Stone Martin after keeping in the con ¬ tention through the early racing quit badly while Mountain Elk was utterly devoid of speed and after being last for most of the journey only beat Stone Martin His race was pounds below what he has shown on other occasions WardinChancery was another of the field that raced disappoint ¬ ingly inglyUncle Uncle Donald was at his best and his winning margin was three lengths while Bubblesome had saved the place by a like distance from Easy Sailing when the Happy Argo ParityThe filly ran down the tired Parity The fifth was at a mile and seventy yards for the cheaper sort of maidens and it went to Jack Collins White Flier with Gnomnie from the Ascot Stable racing to second place and W Denhams Canteret saved third from My Scotch
