NARRAGANSETT PARK BIDS 20000 FOR RACE BETWEEN CAVALCADE AND EQUIPOISE PAWTUCKET R X July 26 The Nar ragansett Racing Association has proposed a 20000 added weightforage race bringing together Equipoise Cavalcade and other stars at its new million dollar Pawtucket R X track which opens August 1 it was announced today by Walter OHara presi ¬ dent and managing director OHara stated that his offer holds good for either the forth ¬ coming meeting from August i to Septem ¬ ber 3 inclusive or that opening October 1 and continuing through November 3 but he prefers the race be arranged for the first meeting As Cavalcade will make his next start in the Travers at Saratoga August 18 the date must be either August 25 or September 1 The distance of the special probably would be one mile and a quarter quarterBoth Both William T Sullivan secretary to Mrs I Dodge Sloane and G M Francis C V Whitneys secretary are inclined to believe the owners of the two horses would con ¬ sider the proposal ARLINGTON HEIGHTS 111 July 26 Not until Mrs Isabel Dodge Sloane who is critically ill in a New York hospital has entirely recovered or sufficiently so to dis ¬ cuss with her trainer Robert A Smith plans for the racing of her great threeyear old champion Cavalcade beyond the Trav ¬ ers Stakes to be renewed during the coming Saratoga meeting no special engagements for the star of the Brookmeade Stable will be accepted Statements to this effect were made by trainer Smith at Arlington Park this afternoon afternoonThe The offer of Walter OHara of Narra gansett Park also those of the Detroit Rac ¬ ing Association Col M J Winn and others to arrange special races for Cavalcade must await the full recovery of Mrs Sloane before there is a decision as to Cavalcades status in connection with them
