G. Vanderbilt. WENT TO POST 2:35. AT POST 7 minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. CHERRY STONE, away nicely and sent into immediate command, displayed good speed to shake off LOOKABOUT, responded to punishment after reaching the home stretch and, under a strong drive, barely lasted to withstand GRAND SLAM. The latter, taken up sharply when the start came and in much trouble during the first sixteenth, raced into a. contending position midway of the turn, swung to the outside for the final drive, came with a tremendous rush and appeared much the best. PARVA STELLA raced in the thick of contention from the beginning, challenged boldly when reaching the final eighth post, but tired thereafter. HIATUS was under vigorous handling from the start and had no excuse. JEHAD raced greenly. CONQUER suffered interference soon after the start and could not stride freely during the opening eighth. SOMEONE ELSE could nof gain a forward position. LOOKABOUT was squeezed back midway of the turn, then quit.- SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE. Time Supply, Sept. 22, 1934 1:10 3 111. GUM, rated forwardly after getting away nicely, took command when ready ancTlield sway to the end. PARADUN was hurried into a contending position "racing on the oufside of the leaders and held on well in the closing drive. FLIGHT OF GOLD lacked speed to hold a position with the leaders, easily worked his way up on the inside and came willingly at the end. INDELIBLE showed speed while setting the pace, but tired in the closing eighth after bearing out slightly. SOUWESTER was unable to get into a prominent position at any stage. BLESSED AGAIN, eased back off the leaders going to the first turn, raced to the outside to engage HOGANS FOX midway of the final turn, gained an easy lead, then drew out to win with much in reserve. TARTAN BETSY improved her position steadily on the outside and came with good courage for the final issue. HOGANS FOX raced EGEON into submission, was steadied until challenged, but failed to rally when shaken up. RAYCART tired after making his bid at the final eighth. EGEON showed speed for the first three-quarters. INSOMNIA broke slowly and was never a factor thereafter. Overweight Hogans Fox, 2 pounds. s FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE. CHIRAC set a steady pace after gaining a slight lead, saved ground and held on gamely. STOCKS, on the inside after being taken up repeatedly, closed in resolute fashion when clear. MISS CAREFUL was under strong handling from the beginning and held on well after racing forwardly. TRACTABLE was used up racing with CHIRAC and tired. FOUR SPOT could not reach a forward position. RED WAGON had good speed while setting the pace, met persistent efforts from LADFIELD and held on well. LADFIELD raced stoutly from the beginning and responded nicely when placed to punishment. NIGHT SPRITE followed close up in the first five-eighths, then tired. SABULA saved ground, but could not reach the leaders. MISS MONOA was unable to keep pace after Holding a forward position. TEDDY CARL entered contention rapidly, drew on even terms with the leaders after three-quarters, but failed to rally thereafter. HAPPY FLAG bettered her position on the inside, but had too much taken out of her to reach contention, and she tired. ROYAL COMMAND was done after seven-eighths. GOLDEN SAINT quit. DANCING BOY raced strongly from the start, niade a bold challenge whefr straightened into, the home stretch and continued well thereafter.- FLYING DERE followed within striking distance of the leaders and came gamely when put to a drive.
