ELDEES FOURTH STRAIGHT Daughter of Campfire Accounts for Feature of Mount Royals Open ¬ ing Day Program MONTREAL Que June 14 Eldee Mrs K Lauras fouryearold daughter of Camp fire Nancy Clay raced to her fourth con ¬ secutive victory since arriving from New York when she galloped to a handy victory in the Mount Royal Handicap feature of ¬ fering for the opening day of the fourteen day meeting of the Back River Jockey Club at the Mount Royal course today She reached the end of the five and onehalf furlongs a length and onehalf in advance of Whitharral from the stable of Rando Thriffley Four lengths back came B Coles Waterway which was making his first start since Woodbine Park last season The win ¬ ner ran the distance in 107 over a slow track caused by the rain which fell from the beginning of the second race raceA A good crowd was on hand for the sport which was run under laden skies while a cold wind swept over the course courseEldee Eldee was in charge of jockey Beecroft who in driving her home an easy winner completed a double for the afternoon hav ing previously scored with Gab in the third race Beecroft sent the Campfire filly into the lead in the first few strides and rating her along slightly in advance of Waterway in the early stages withstood repeated chal ¬ lenges from the latter and drawing clear as the stretch was reached was in hand at the end
