GALLOPING, on the inside throughout, raced as if much the best, wore down the leaders while in th« dcope?t part of the track and won going away under punishment. PETER PUMPKIN, a strong factor throughout, held on with good courage while disposing of BIDDY, but could not withstand the winner. BIDDY, closest to the pace most of the way, gave good response to strong riding, but faltered nearing the end. MISS SUBWAY began fast, raced clear for a quarter, was in close quarters approaching the stretch, then tired when clear. RUNAMUCK gave a poor performance and can do much better. WANOAH took command early, continued under steadying reserve, weakened inside the eighth post, blocked WATERFRONT sharply when he tried to come through, then outfinished PAWN TICKET. Tha latter, suddenly improved, closed strong after racing well up throughout. PRINCESS A. O., slow to get going, finished strongly. WATERFRONT, pounds the best, was taken back repeatedly, then steered into a pocket when racing strongly, which eliminated him as a contender. JACK CONNER quit. EXPONENT disliked the going. PATTI SING displayed early speed. The others were never dangerous. MY BLAZE, sent into a long lead early, continued with good courage to the final sixteenth, where he gave way to the winner, but easily held FIJI safe for the place. The latter improved her position and raced strongly to the end. SAFE AND SOUND began slowly, closed a good gap in the final half mile and closed resolutely. FLINT SHOT went well for five eighths, then quit. VISIGOTH weakened after racing prominently to the stretch. VITAMIN B. showed nothing. LATE DATE, awav slowlv, could not gain and appeared to dislike the track. SCARP was outrun. FLINT SHOT, VISIGOTH and LATE DATE delayed the start. Scratched— 12560 Beaver Dam, 106. OTHERWISE, sent to the front soon after the start, set the pace under mild reserve, gave away when challnged, but outfinished ERECH. The latter, prominent for seven-eighths, lost ground gradually in the stretch. ROYAL SPORT raced evenly without mishap. LEGALITY dropped far back, but improved his position in the stretch.
