1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES . g Tom Flippen arrived from Houston with Crazy Jane and Busy Storm. Eugene Lutz, whose horses preceded him from Hot Springs, arrived from the Vapor City Monday morning. Frank Grand, who will serve as placing judge at Kenner, La., and who has Pantaur here in charge of R. A. Coward, arrived from New Orleans for an extended visit. Due to J. G. Brown, the trainer of Mrs. V. Wyses horses, being ill, Wise Will and Kai Harri were withdrawn from their races Monday. F. A. Laird checked in from New Orleans with Cabotin. Ben Jones, trainer of T. C. Wordens pretentious string, left for Parnell, Mo., Saturday night. He is inspecting his young stock and that of H. M. Woolf at the latters breeding establishment. He is expected to return here Tuesday. Jess A Johnson, who fractured his left ankle when he fell while roller skating last week, was at the track Monday, but it will be some time before he will be able to resume riding. E. Daughefty shipped Manly to Riverside Park to await the opening of the meeting. Jockey J. Adams, who came with Daugherty, left for Seguin, where the first of the Fair meetings start this week. Raymond Russell, president of Alamo Downs, Inc., stated that he had purchased 250 radiators and that they would be installed in the Alamo plant this summer. The work of glassing in the grandstand and clubhouse will get under way in the near future. R. N. Vestal, trainer of the Three Ds Stock Farm Stable, and jockey Albert Beck made applications for Kentucky licenses. The Three Ds string will leave for Louisville following the close of this meeting. Eddie Mack, director of publicity at Epsom Downs, who, with his family has been visiting here for several days, received orders from Lou Smith to report at Rockingham Park. Apprentice Dan Brammer is far in the van of the other riders here. He has ridden sixteen winners, six more than Alfred Robertson, his nearest rival. Leroy Pierson is third, with seven winners. Jockeys H. Louman and H. Tinker arrived from Hot Springs. Louman reported to the P. O. Anderson stable. j Cris Meldrum arrived at Fair Park with j Parma Violet and Minthera. They are the property of M. R. Cowell, Canadian sportsman who has five two-year-olds at his farm near Toronto. They are sons and daughters of Worthmore and Spey Pearl. Apprentice E. Tucker has entered the em-! ploy of F. A. Carreaud. j T. Meloche who was injured when his mount crashed through the outside fence at Fair Park Saturday suffered a sprained ankle and it was necessary to take five stitches in his left hip. I J. B. Partridge loaded Prince Abbot, j Crystal Prince and Mantados and they left for Jamaica Monday morning. Ed Anthony changed the plans for the R. W. Perkins stable and it will remain here until the close of the meeting. J. Tommy Taylor stated Monday that he has arranged to send He Did to Churchill Downs after the son of Victorian fills his engagement in the Texas Derby. The Santa I Anita Derby winner and the five others Tay-1 lor has here for Mrs. Silas B. Mason will leave Sunday April 19,
