1 BOWIE TURF NOTES t $ Traitress, owned by the Greentree Stable, was a late withdrawal from the first race Monday when trainer J. Gaver reported that the filly suffered an injury to her lip. Permission was granted by the stewards. Charles Irby, former trainer for the Tranquillity Farm Stable, owned by H. H. Cross, was an arrival from Florida. Jockey C. Phillips arrived from Oaklawn Park, accompanied by his agent, Cecil Knight. Phillips is under contract to J. Y. Christmas, who has his stable under shelter here. Bob Frend, who will serve as starter during the meetings at Rockingham Park, New Hampshire, will leave for the New England course on Wednesday.
