Final payment on Airflames eligibility to the Arlington Futurity, which will be renewed at Arlington Park Saturday, August 1, was made at the May 15 closing, along with that of many other flashy two-year-olds and promising starts. Airflame has been to the post on four occasions and has yet to taste defeat, his final victory being scored in the Juvenile Championship Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Previous to that race he ran three furlongs in :33 flat to establish the new record. Airflame was eased up in his training to After his successful Santa Anita campaign, permit him every opportunity to develop, and then his owner and trainer J. H. In the meantime trainer Stotler has trained Airflame only lightly, but plans to resume harder work soon. The Vanderbilt silks have not been borne to victory in either of Arlingtons two im-portant contests for two-year-olds, although the young Maryland sportsmans Parade Girl j and Balcony finished second and third in the Lassie Stakes last summer, while his Dis- ] covery accounted for the Stars and Stripes j and Arlington Handicaps.
