SONNY JOE was rated close to the pace in the early running and. coming to the outside of KEENE JACK in the stretch, caught the latter and held him to the end. KEENE JACK got through an opening on the far turn to open up a good lead and raced gamely after being headed. MADRONE closed ground under urging. CAVOUR also made up much ground. FENTLAND tired. Start good and slow. Won driving: second and third the same. WRACKFIELD was never far from the pace and, coming gamely under urging in the stretch, got to the front on the outside near the end and won in a drive. REBUTTAL raced forwardly from the start and was close up at the end. WASATCH was closest to PEP TALK in the early running, took command in the stretch and held on fairly welL PEP TALK opened up a good lead while making the pace, but tired near the end. LADY VALOROUS met with some interference. OLD MAID was bumped rounding the First turn, but failed to display any speed and showed a dull effort. SPECIAL AGENT soon dashed to the front and, opening up a good lead under clever handling in the back stretch, drew away from the field entering the stretch and was well in hand at the finish, his rider looking around several times in the final filty yards. DON ROBERTO moved up strongly on the inside of INDIAN BROOM through the back stretch, swung a trifle wide on the stretch turn and did not seriously threaten the winner, although finishing well. INDIAN BROOM was bumped rounding the first turn, but held a forward position and, never fully extended, could have done much better. SWEEPSTAFF ran a good race, but was overmatched. WAR GLORY dropped back when the real racing began. GRAND MANITOU was never a daneerous contender. MOON SIDE and RUSHAWAY appeared to be outclassed.
