CRACK FIELD FOR MARCHBANK Indian Broom, Seabiscuit, Special Agent and Others to Renew Old Rivalries Saturday. SAN BRUNO, Calif, April 12. Tanforan enters the final week of it3 spring meeting Tuesday afternoon and, with fair weather, the coming five days of racing are expected to be far greater from an attendance and business standpoint than any week of tha session. A number of good race3 are to be decided during get-away week, but the feature Is the 0,000 Marchbank Handicap, to be run Saturday. All the stars which met in the Exposition Handicap last Saturday are expected to go postward, while Seabiscuit will, in all probability, make his first appearance of the season in the rich event. The Marchbank Handicap had its first running last Fall, and Indian Broom, which is listed among Saturdays starters, established a new mile and an eighth world record in winning in the time of 1:47. CARRYING MORE WEIGHT. Indian Broom, a four-year-old this season, will have much more weight up than he had in his 1936 jaunt. Special Agent, in winning the Exposition Handicap, came within one-fifth second of equalling his own track mark made last spring. He, too, could have gone faster, but it was unnecessary, and jockey Richardson had him in hand at the finish. Don Roberto, which split Special Agent and Indian Broom in Saturdays race, remains an outsider in the Marchbank. Special Agent defeated him with ease and Indian Broom could have beaten him in a like manner. The other horses which performed in the Exposition Handicap must be given the "goby." Sweepstaff, which finished fourth, will be shipped East, while Grand Maintou failed to display the form he flashed in finishing second to Seabiscuit in the San Juan Cap-istrano Handicap at Santa Anita. With Seabiscuit, Indian Broom, and Special Agent in the field, the Marchbank Handicap should be a fine race. At the weights Seabiscuit, although the probable favorite, has no death grip on the purse.
