ROYAL RHAPSODY, showing good speed, moved into a clear lead after the opening eighth, opened up a safe lead midway of the stretch and drew out without effort approaching the end. HUNTING HOME raced closest to the winner from the start and was best of the others. FRANK BROOKE bettered his position on the outside and closed courageously. LOW CUTS went well while saving ground, but tired during Hhe closing drive. MOBCAP raced evenly all the way. BERTILLON was held safe. MINEY MYERSON broke fast and clear, pinched BILL DONOGHUE back at the turn out of the back stretch, saved ground and withstood a .hard drive gamely when the real test came. BILL DONOGHUE, racing on the inside of the winner early, was eased back when unable to get through, came to the outside and Finished .determinedly. SCUDDER raced close to the leaders for a half mile, then tired steadily. GAY DOG lacked early speed and could never threaten. BUSTER BOY was done early. PERFECT DEVIL was held safe. PATSEY BEGONE, starting quickly, moved into a clear lead, was steadied until challenged, then held on strongly to the close. AROUSED was prominent from the start, and held on gamely when put to a hard drive. LITTLE ARGO, steadied in the early running, responded gamely for the closing drive and was going stoutly at the end. SAN ANTIOCA lacked early speed and could never threaten seriously. MY SURPRISE raced well placed but was not good enough. TOP DOG could not menace. BOOMING GUNS and JIM CORN were outrun. JACKIE D., sluggish in the early running, came between horses in the late stages and finished fast. PRAIRIE DOG was under strong pressure while racing prominently and showed a good effort. SPEED TO SPARE displayed high speed while setting the pace, saved ground, but could not stall off the winner when challenged. POSTAGE DUE followed close up in the early running and held on for thedosing drive. JAY JAY, away nicely and having clear racing room, failed to menace seriously when put to a strong drive. WHOPPER worked his way up on the outside and made up some ground in the late stages. LOG showed pood speed for five-eighths, then tired. DARK HOPE began slower than usual and was held safe. TONIANNA took command without effort when straightened into the back stretch, racel in hand until challenged, rallied to a hard drive and, coming strong in the last fifty yards after being headed momentarily, outstayed UNCLE LESTER. The latter, reserved back of the leaders for three-quarters and on the outside, slipped through next to the inside when the leaders bore out at the stretch turn, reached the winner inside the final eighth but hung right at the end after getting his head in front. SWIFT FLASH forced a steady pace for three-quarters, then tired. SIR REG was unable to menace. BOMAR tired early. KHAY lost his rider at the break. HEADIN HOME continued willingly after being overhauled and outstayed KOTERITO. The latter raced prominently in spots. SNOBBY" SCAMP tired after moving up stoutly at the final turn.
