BUSHRANGER KILLED NEW YORK N Yf May 25 Bush ¬ ranger son of Stefan the Great War Path champion of 1936 owned by J E Widener and looked upon as the best steeplechaser of the past decade died at Belmont Park this morning as the result of injuries sustained when he fell at the first jump on the back field The horse was being schooled by jockey H Little and negotiated three fences on the front sde before making a bob ¬ ble at the fourth He recovered and then proceeded onto the next fence fenceJockey Jockey Little was dragged from under the prostrate animal and rushed to Mary Immaculate Hospital At that institution doctors reported that due to the boys comatose condition they were unable to completely diagnose his case but that he appeared to be suf ¬ fering injuriesLittle from internal injuries Little was highly regarded by owners and trainers and was looked upon as one of the best of the modern day riders ridersBushranger Bushranger raced undefeated last season and was to have made his debut in a race before the close of this sea ¬ son The accident was the fourth of the present meeting the previous ones being Flying Cross Yes Siree and Lord Admiral
