JOCKEY BASIL JAMES TO TOHAVE HAVE TONSILS REMOVED HOMEWOOD 111 May 27 On the advice of his physician jockey Basil James one of the most popular riders on the Chicago circuit will enter the Augustana Hospital Chicago for the removal of his tonsils James was in the saddle this afternoon at Washington Park but cancelled his mounts for tomorrow and the operation on his throat probably will keep him inactive for several weeks weeksJames James whose home is in Sunnyside Wash is under contract to the Tranquillity Farm stable of Henry H Cross Chicago patron of the turf Last year James was the leading rider of the country and this year he ranks high on the American jockey list
