CHANGES IN MONTREAL DATES DATESMount Mount Royal Takes Over Dates DatesAllotted Allotted to Dorval Kings Park ParkMay May Follow Dorval MONTREAL Que May 27 Slight changes in Montreals racing picture appeared today though of a routine nature with no general effect on the opening date or number of rac ¬ ing days Leo Dandurand played one of his typical master strokes in getting the late June dates for the Blue Bonnets session starting June 19 He had planned to follow with Dorval and had the stamp of approval put on these dates by the government and so was ready to start However at a con ¬ ference between Marty Shenker represent ¬ ing William V Dwyer owner of Mount Royal and Leo Dandurand managing di ¬ rector of the Montreal and Dorval Jockey Clubs a change was made in the dates As Dwyer holds a lease on the Mount Royal track from the liquidators until early July Dandurand agreed to turn over the Dorval dates to the Back River Jockey Club to en ¬ able the management to hold a meeting starting RoyalBlue on July 10 at Mount Royal Blue Bonnets retains the opening dates starting on Saturday June 19 and continu ¬ ing until July 5 Mount Royal will open on June 10 and will continue until July 26 after which Connaught Park Ottawa will open on August 2 and continue until August 17 17Dorval Dorval will swing in after that and will open after the middle of August and should Kings Park operate the meeting will follow that at Dorval Richard A Leigh who will be racing secretary and presiding steward at Mount Royal as well as at Dorval Ot ¬ tawa and Blue Bonnets makes his first trip to Canada as an official
