VICTORY FOR GRAYSON SILKS Ocean Roll Makes Every Post at Suffolk Winning One Aleppo Temple Handicap Attraction on onShriners Shriners Day at Boston Lernana LernanaAccounts Accounts for Opener BOSTON Mass May 27 Admiral Gary T Graysons Ocean Roll defeated five other threeyearolds as he drove to victory in the Aleppo Temple Handicap which featured the Shriners day of sport at Suffolk Downs this afternoon Ocean Roll led for every step of the journey and defeated Danny Sullivans Trina by a neck Mrs F Lange bartels Prince Sador was third four lengths behind the battling leaders Palan finished fourth Bright Land and Gallant Eagle Were the only other starters They finished as named namedOcean Ocean Roll began fast as usual under Napier and took a good lead on all rivals be ¬ fore the turn at the clubhouse Down the back stretch the Strolling Player gelding was in front by three lengths with Bright Land attempting to go with him but was never able to get very close Prince Sador was a distant third in the back stretch The latter attempted to improve his position near the far turn but Trina was running up too and the pair surged up to the tiring Bright Land closely lapped lappedOcean Ocean Roll came into the stretch slightly more than a length in front Trina was second and Prince Sador a close third At the eighth post Trina drew away from Prince Sador SadorNEVER NEVER IN DANGER DANGERAt At the sixteenth post Napier began to look back at his rival who was gaining on the outside He evidently decided that one crack of the whip would be sufficient for Ocean Roll and he made that at the seventy yard marker getting home safely safelyTrinas Trinas race was a good one The Sickle filly exhibited her usual stretch powers She seems to want more distance than a mile Prince Sador seemed outclassed by the first two but had little opposition for show They finished in 142 142A A large delegation of Shriners with the temple band were on hand for the fes ¬ tivities and paraded between races racesH H O Collins Lernana a daughter of the mudloving Bud Lerner proved she was her sires offspring as she splashed home over a sloppy track in the first over six furlongs Jaekle rode her out at the end taking no chances and she finished two and a half lengths in advance of the favorite Candar from B N Kanes stable The latter was two lengths in front of Bill Gallaghers Queen Vic as they passed the judges Dixie Flapper was fourth fourthOUT OUT OF STEP SCORES Hyman Biebers Out of Step a good thing won the second at threequarters as Jaekle became the first rider at the meeting to win both ends of the Daily Double The combination showed 13040 The winner relished the going arid simply romped home At the end he was five lengths clear of A C Niehaus Loyal Son the pacemaker in the early stages with Gartha Arrin Stables Pocket Piece another four lengths back in Indian file finish Blue Spur finished fourth fourthThe The third was one of the queerest races seen in a long while In the first place there was the longest post delay of the sea ¬ son twntyone minutes but this was not the fault of starter Jim Milton Legal Dance crushed Eddie Smiths leg against the fence while at the post and the boy had to be carried from the track Eddie Tucker was substituted Legal Dance then tossed Tucker Laconic threw Knott Sister Polly reared time and again Limit threw Barba Finally they were off offSTANDARD STANDARD TIME BEHAVES BEHAVESOne One of the two horses in the field of six that behaved himself at the barrier in the five furlongs event for twoyearolds proved the winner when Mrs V Wyses Standard Time scored by two lengths over Alfred Mc Knights Sister Polly Bill Gallaghers Limit was third six lengths back backG G L Weiss Good Dame drove to victory by a length over R C Hannas Distract in the fourth a threequarters sprint The win ¬ ner set all of her own pace to achieve the victory but if the second horse had not gone wide at the turn he would have put up a much more stubborn argument He had a length and a half to spare over D L Ogles Top Tax as they finished Pharatime was fourth in the field of eight Schieh rode the winner and rated her along in front in a heady manner saving ground all the way
