SHREVEPORT TURF NOTES The sevenyearold gelding Dunwin is the only performer that George Ray checked in with but he plans to make several additions to his stable after the meeting gets under way wayMiss Miss Dickey Stieger is the only woman trainer of thoroughbreds at the Caddo Par ¬ rish track The veteran sprinter Cheers winner of four straight races before being shipped chargeCharles to Shreveport is her only charge Charles Mullaney outrider on several of the Chicago tracks and who fills the same position at the Louisiana Jockey Club in New Orleans stopped off for the day en route to the Crescent City where he will remain throughout the winter winterMickey Mickey Fernandez was an arrival from New Orleans where he visited for several days following the close of Fairmount Park and will make the riding engagements of apprentice J Caniglia He will also act as agent for the stable of Norman Butsey Hernandez which may be augmented after the close of Sportsmans Park ParkLou Lou Pierce who brought in St Carl from Fairmount Park several days ago acquired another to race under his banner when he purchased Warring Witch for a private con ¬ sideration siderationC C D Wynn veteran Oklahoma turfman is an arrival with two horses to represent him during the meeting The racers are Miss Contrary and Ruth Kerry KerryA A number of special days are being ar ¬ ranged in which neighboring towns will be honored This practice will be followed throughout the meeting of twentyfive days which will be ushered in on Saturday SaturdayImmediately Immediately after completion of the two new barns thoroughbreds were moved in for occupancy The demand for stall reserva ¬ tions continues to reach officials of the jockey club who report that every avail ¬ able stall on the ground is filled filledJohn John Carey and Ray Ryan are assisting racing secretary Emmett A Hileman with the issuance of owner and trainer and groom badges and accepting applications for li ¬ censes which will be passed on by stewards Charles F Henry and Owen E Pens Percy Ott who will be in charge of the program venders came in from New Orleans to make arrangements for dispensing of offi ¬ cial programs at the State Fair Grounds meeting meetingJ J M Neer brought in two horses from Seattle where they were campaigned at Longacres during the recent meeting to carry the colors of O M Neer The racers are Buntingon and Husker H HBlondsure Blondsure and Equality were registered with the racing secretary Thursday morning by Dick Roberts in whose interests the platers will race
