SHREVEPORT TURF NOTES Ray Conner who suffered painful but not serious injuries when he fell from My Peter on Saturday will not resume riding for an ¬ other day When Conner makes his return to the saddle he will be a fullfledged jockey having graduated from the maiden ranks on October 25 of last year yearJockey Jockey Gus Dye was an addition to the riding colony at the State Jockey Clubs track He will do the riding for Craig Tull 1 throughout the twentyfive days of racing at the local course courseW W A Mikcl who has one of the largest stables quartered at the State Fair Grounds reported that he has leased the services of apprentice M Pantone who was an arrival from Sportsmans Park ParkBuddy Buddy Vail and Joe Boucher came in from Chicago where they sported the silks dur ¬ ing the current Sportsmans Park meeting meetingRacing Racing secretary Emmett A Hileman an ¬ nounced that entries close Tuesday for the handicap scheduled to be decided Wednes ¬ day afternoon The contest is open to three yearolds and upward at a distance of six furlongs furlongsStewards Stewards C P Henry and O E Pons an ¬ nounced that the threeday rule would apply to any horses scratched from the program except in cases where the horses were on the also eligible list and did not get in the race raceElton Elton Bud Tiller returned from Cooper Texas where he inspected the horses of Dr J A Blackwell that he has turned out at present presentTwo Two carloads of horses arrived from Chi ¬ cago and were placed in quarters outside the grounds because of the lack of stabling fa ¬ cilities on the grounds groundsTom I Tom Moran custodian of the jockey quar ¬ ters reported that a total of fiftyone riders have been registered with him and licensed to ply their profession at the Shreveport track daysH during its meeting of twentyfive days H Barnfield registered two horses with the racing secretary Saturday morning The horses are Immutable and Sweepmore and came from Beulah Park where they were freshened up following the close of the sea ¬ son at that point pointRacing Racing secretary Emmet A Hileman an ¬ nounced that entries for the handicap sched ¬ uled to feature Wednesdays midweek offer ¬ ing of the State Jockey Club here will close on Tuesday
