BEGIN ERECTION OF STABLES Facilities at Tropical Park to Be Increased by 20 Per Cent Coral Gables Course Is Expecting a Banner BannerSeason Season Raisin Stable Room to I Approximately 1000 MIAMI Fla Oct 24 Construction will start immediately upon new stables which will increase the stall accommodations at Tropical Park 20 per cent announced Nor ¬ man W Graves president of the Gables Rac ¬ ing Association here today At present ap ¬ proximately 850 stalls are available for use at the Gables course and the additional sta ¬ bles will raise the total to more than 1000 1000Of Of course this will only partially allevi ¬ ate the pressure for stable accommodations said manager Frank D Schuyler who is in charge of the offices at the Gables course If we had another 1000 we could fill them from the record list of stall applications now on file fileGraves Graves prominent in Miami civic work for many years is taking a more active interest in the Gables Association this season He was vicepresident from the time the track was built until 1933 when he was elected president presidentDuring During these years president Graves has worked constantly to build good will for the sport in Florida and particularly in the Miami area He is an ardent follower of the sport and seldom misses a day at the races during the entire Florida season seasonWe We are looking forward to a booming season in south Florida this winter and though racing at Tropical and Hialeah set new high marks of popularity last winter they should be passed during the coming campaign declared Graves today It prob ¬ ably will be our biggest season at Tropical Park and we are planning other expansions of facilities for horsemen and patrons be ¬ sides the increase in stabling accommoda ¬ tions
