FRED M SCHANZE DIES LAUREL Md Oct 24 Fred M Schanze fortyseven vicepresident and associate edi ¬ tor of Turf and Sports Digest died at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore late Monday following a lengthy illnes Deceased was for thirteen years connected with Turf and Sports Digest as business manager and asso ¬ ciate editor He was elected a member of the Maryland Racing Writers Association this year and was nationally known in sports circles and was a native of Baltimore For many years before joining the staff of the Turf and Sports Digest he was business manager of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team under the late Jack Dunn and was also a member of the Baltimore Athletic Club and Hillendale Country Club
