DENY A P PETITION WASHINGTON D C Oct 24 The su ¬ preme court today denied the petition of the Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Co for review of a decision of the Louisiana Supreme Court upholding the states claim to interest and attorneys fees resulting from litigation over the states chain store tax The A P Co told the high court that it promptly paid 182600 in chain store taxes after the court upheld the law but that the state imme ¬ diately claimed interest and attorneys fees aggregating 99936 additional The court said that the petition was based on a non federal ground inadequate to support it The supreme court recessed today until Novem ¬ ber 7
