GOLDEN NUT made a strong move after leaving the back stretch and, continuing gamely in the run home, caught YES POLLY nearing the finish to win narrowly under hard urging. YES POLLY was outrun early, but made up much ground while racing wide and faltered after getting to the front in the stretch. BLUE HOUR, closest to TONAS in the early running, raced well to the finish. TONAS raced to the front early to open up a long lead in the first half mile, but tired badly in the stretch. DENBIGH made a steady move on the outside of the leaders after leaving the back stretch and, getting to the front on the stretch turn, drew out easily in the last eighth. HONEY CAR was badly outrun to the last quarter, then came with a rush and caught CLOUDY WEATHER in the closing strides CLOUDY WEATHER was used up making the pace and tired. MIDWICK raced fairly well. COUNT PAN was far back of the leaders in the early part, but came very fast on the inside through the stretch. BELOW ZERO, was always well up and finished fairly well. CUE BALL could never get to the front, but raced fairly well in the going for the first three-quarters, then tired in the stretch.
