BILL LEE SIGNS 1939 CONTRACT Bill Lee, ace pitcher of the Chicago Cubs, who hurled them to a pennant in the home stretch drive of the National Leagues hectic race the past season, signed his contract for 1939 in the office of P. K. Wrigley, Monday. While the figure was not given out, it is said to call for a salary of 2,500, which is a substantial raise .over last year.
